Donatas Mickus appointed CEO of Crowdpear: Focus on sustainable growth and international expansion
Donatas Mickus, an experienced executive with an extensive background in management and business development in the financial sector, has been appointed CEO of Crowdpear, a crowdfunding platform regulated under EU legislation (ECSP license holder), effective November 3, 2026. He succeeds Vytautas Olšauskas, who previously held the position. The new CEO will focus on sustainable platform growth, responsible risk management, and further international expansion.

Donatas Mickus brings more than 15 years of management experience. He has spent most of his professional career in the financial sector, where his responsibilities included business development, sales team management, strategic partnership development, and financial product expansion.
From 2016 to 2018, Donatas Mickus served as Regional Manager at the financial services company MOKILIZINGAS. From October 2018 to April 2026, he held the position of Sales Group Manager at Inbank Lithuania, where he was responsible for implementing sales strategies, managing team performance, maintaining relationships with strategic partners, and driving business growth.
According to the new CEO, one of Crowdpear’s key priorities will be the platform’s continued growth while maintaining a responsible approach to project selection and risk management.
“Crowdpear has achieved significant results in a relatively short period and built a growing international investor community. Our goal is to continue steadily expanding the portfolio of loans funded through the platform while maintaining high standards of project selection and risk management. We will place particular emphasis on diversifying investment opportunities and further expanding into international markets. We aim to ensure that Crowdpear’s growth remains sustainable and that investors have access to high-quality, carefully assessed investment projects,” says Donatas Mickus, CEO of Crowdpear.
Vytautas Olšauskas, who previously served as Crowdpear’s CEO and is also one of the platform’s shareholders, will continue focusing on the operations of Mano Bankas, where he is a co-founder and Chairman of the Board.
More than €60 million in loans funded through Crowdpear
The leadership transition comes as Crowdpear continues its steady growth. Since launching operations in 2023, investors have funded more than €60 million in loans through the platform, while total interest paid to investors since launch is approaching €4 million.
At the end of 2025, the total amount of loans funded through Crowdpear stood at €38.66 million. It has now exceeded €60 million, representing growth of more than 55% since the end of last year.
The platform’s international investor community is also expanding and currently includes more than 11,800 users.
Crowdpear provides opportunities to invest in real estate-backed loans intended to finance real estate projects and other business financing needs. Investments available on the platform offer annual interest rates of up to 14%.
Currently, the platform offers projects in Lithuania, Romania, and Portugal, enabling investors to diversify their portfolios across different real estate markets, project developers, and financing opportunities.
Before projects are made available to investors, Crowdpear assesses their financial viability, borrowers’ ability to meet financial obligations, collateral arrangements, and associated risks.
Future priorities: Responsible growth and expansion into new markets
According to Donatas Mickus, Crowdpear’s future development will focus on maintaining a balance between increasing funding volumes, diversifying investment opportunities, and responsible risk management.
“As the platform grows, our objective is not simply to increase the volume of funded loans. Ensuring consistent project assessment, transparent communication with investors, and long-term trust is equally important. We will continue strengthening our operations in existing markets while exploring opportunities to expand into other European Union countries,” says Donatas Mickus.
The company plans to further expand its offering of real estate-backed investments, strengthen cooperation with project developers, and increase the diversity of investment opportunities.
